Bay & Byte is a single directory mapping software and AI tools for independent garages. As an independent, non-commercial project, it helps garages cut through the noise, automate tedious admin, and find the right tool in minutes rather than weeks.
The independent aftermarket moves fast, but finding reliable tech shouldn't be a project of its own. Bay & Byte organizes tools without bias or paid placement, along with genuine reviews from mechanics and shop owners.
Bay & Byte is built and run by Christoph Schön, a steady voice in the European independent aftermarket. Trained as a mechanical engineer in Aachen, Germany, and now based in Zug, Switzerland, he spent years across OEMs and suppliers before finding his home in the independent aftermarket. His genuine belief: independent garages deserve direct access to innovation, and new technology should actually serve the people running the shop.
Nobody pays to be listed
Listing a digital tool, creating an account, writing a review, all is and will stay free.
Reviews from trustworthy garages
Every review is tied to a real workshop that has used the tool. Vendors cannot post, edit, or otherwise hide reviews.
